Screen
Printing:
A
stencil method of printmaking in which a design is imposed on a
screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with
an impermeable substances, and ink is forced through the mesh onto
de printing surface.
The equivalent of the printing plate for the screen printer is the
SCREEN - a wooden or aluminium frame with a fine nylon MESH
stretched over it. The MESH is coated with a light and sensitive
emulsion or film, which - when dry - will block the holes in the
mesh. The image that needs to be printed is output to film either
by camera or image setter. This film positive and the mesh on the
screen are asandwiched together and exposed to ultra-violet light
in a deviced called print-down frame. The screen is then washed
with a jet of water which washes away all the light sensitive emulsion
that has not been hardened by the ultra-violet light. This leaves
you with an open stencil which corresponds exactly to the image
that was supplied on the film. Now the screen is fitted on the press
and is hinged so it can be raised and lowered. the substrate to
be printed is places in position under the screen, and ink is placed
on the top side of the screen, (the frame acts also as a wall to
contain the ink). A rubber blade gripped in a wooden or metal called
a SQUEEGEE (not unlike a giant wind-screen wiper0 is pulled
across the top of the screen; it pushes the ink through the mesh
onto the surface of the substrate you are printing.

Embroidery:
Ornamentation
of fabric with needle work.
The embroidery proces begins by givin our clients a free quote concering
their design ideas and garment choices. We acquire information concerning
the color of the shirt, the size breakdown/quantity of shirts, and
the required artwork necessary for the shirts, caps, jackets or
anything else. In addition, we look at the location in which the
artwork will be embroidered. We also set a time frame with the customer
concerning when the artwork will be ready for approval or qhen the
final shirts or caps will be ready for pick up.
During
the next step of the embroidery process, our designers create on
the computer the design choice of the client. Once the design is
finalized, we digitize it. This means that the artwork is broken
down by colors and turned into individual stitch counts that our
computerized machines can understand. The digitization allows for
a starting and ending point. for the needle within the design. Digitization
prices vary depending upon the size of the artwork and the number
of stitches (amount of detail) required. Digitization of artwork
only has to be done once. If you choose to re-order the same design
at a later date, digitization fees are not applicable.
During
the embroidery stage, our machines go to work. A shirt or cap is
locked intoa hoop to the fabric which is to be embroidered.
this hoops are them placed onto the embroidery machine which is
sent the digitized image from our computers.
As
you can see, this service is just like printing on paper, or T-Shirts
but with threads. We love art!
"It
is the passion within the artist that makes ideas come to
life, one stitch at a time."
